I see Google+ replacing Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin for old duffers like me (43 yr old business manager). I really couldn’t see the point in facebook but I already think G+ is a simple piece of genius and where appropriate I’ve sent out stream postings to my small business’s management “circle” rather than use general e-mail.

The automatic running of youtube playlists when you search a singer, the access to other parts of google (finance, docs etc) and being easily able to see your profile as other’s do are all very encouraging.

But how do I switch off the side-bar ads for games and other nonsense?

I am using both, and i love them both equally. They are so far the best communication, marketing and social tools out there! Just take it easy, and stop questioning what is better. It’s the same as asking yourself what is better Lambo or Ferrari

Though funding can’t hurt, I don’t think that is what will put G+ at the head of the pack in the social networking game. I think Google simply being Google, and going back to it’s roots will be the ultimate game changer.

If you think FaceBook’s privacy settings are questionable now…wait a few minutes. They’re fixing it so that EVERYTHING you read, watch, listen to is going to be shared with everyone. Are you comfortable with that? Not this cowgirl. I’m about out of FaceBook because of the coming changes. I’m thinking a whole lot of other people will be too.

Wait a minute….Google + doesn’t allow anyone under 18??? You do know, don’t you, that a whole lot of people who use FaceBook do so in order to keep in touch with grandchildren. That could be a deal breaking for the massive change over that’s about due to begin from FaceBook. Google + needs to quickly change that rule!
