When we need to find anything on the internet, we just search it on a search engine (usually google) by typing a relevant key word and follow the search results. Thus, webmasters are trying their website to be listed top of the search results for particular key words. The process of making a website come on top of search results is called “Search Engine Optimization”(SEO).  Primary goal of SEO is to increase the organic traffic of a website.  It has not been taught in any institutions and the best way to be an SEO expert is to get your hands dirty with it. Well, you can’t get the SEO knowledge buy reading any book or guide, doing SEO is the best way to learn it no matter what your SEO knowledge is, of course you will find new new things every day and you will become an SEO after a very few years depending on your effort and interest . After doing it for a few years you will get a good idea of all SEO techniques, tools and secrets.  You will not easily find any proper SEO guides, because most of the SEO experts don’t like to share their very valuable knowledge publicly, since SEO is a very effective money making business on the internet.

SEO comprises a wide range of operations. Usually many people think that SEO is always done on the web page itself – known as ‘onpage SEO’ ,  but it is completely a wrong idea. Because the main part of SEO is done out side of the website – known as ‘offpage SEO’.  Of course,  SEO can be done without touching a web page.  As more than 75% of the searches  are being done using google, mainly SEO is done for google search engine and it might, at the same time increase the organic traffic from other search engines as well.  But, keep in mind that spiders of each search engine is different although they might work similarly in some aspects. Doing SEO for less popular search engines is not worth the time and work.
